(Windom, Mn.)– A major road construction project is about to get underway just north of the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
Ken Janowski, a Project Supervisor for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Windom tells KUOO news crews will start re-surfacing Highway 71 between Interstate 90 in Jackson and the Iowa border this coming Monday or Tuesday. Janowski says the project will take six weeks to complete, depending on the weather.
Motorists can expect significant delays. Janowski says traffic will be escorted through the construction zone by a pilot vehicle.
W. Hodgeman and Sons of Fairmont is the general contractor on the 1.5 million dollar project.
