(Okoboji)– An Okoboji woman has apparently drowned in East Lake Okoboji.
The Okoboji Police Department says the body of 68-year-old Floy Evelyn Hershberger, a resident of Edgewater Plaza in Okoboji, was found by a family member around 1:45 p.m. Monday near her dock.
Dickinson County Medical Examiner Doctor Brett Olson determined the cause of death was accidental drowning. It’s believed she died around 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
Officials believe Hershberger may have tripped on the dock and fell into the water.
Okoboji Police were assisted by the Arnolds Park and Milford Police Departments, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
