(Windom, Mn.)– A two-vehicle accident in Windom, Minnesota has claimed the life of an Ocheyedan man.
The Minnesota State Patrol identifies the victim as 39-year-old Bradley Nelson of Ocheyedan. He was taken to the Windom hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say Nelson was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by his wife, 32-year-old Kelly Nelson of Ocheyedan. She was taken to the Windom hospital where she was treated and released. Two other passengers in the vehicle Kelly Nelson was driving were transported to the Windom hospital then airlifted to McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls. Nine-year-old Jessica Nelson of Ocheyedan is listed in critical condition; eight-year-old Joanie Nelson of Ocheyedan is being treated for a broken leg.
Troopers say the other vehicle was being driven by 20-year-old Eric Munson of Cottonwood, Minnesota. Munson and a passenger, 19-year-old Kimberly Louwajie of Cottonwood, were taken to the Windom hospital where they were treated and released.
A 1994 Oldsmobile Nelson was driving and a 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by Munson were totaled.
Authorities say the two vehicles collided in a sideswipe-type accident that took place around 5:17 p.m. Sunday on Highway 71 just south of the junction with Highway 60 in Windom.
