West Okoboji Bacteria

(Wahpeton)– A recent study by The Des Moines Register indicates the presence of a strain of E-Coli Bacteria in West Lake Okoboji.

According to a copyright story in the paper’s Sunday edition, the potentially dangerous bacteria can fight off common antibiotics.

The newspaper says it’s study found a similar bacteria at Lake Manawa State Park in Council Bluffs; Lake of Three Fires in Taylor County and Lake Darling near Brighton.

D-N-R officials weren’t immediately available for comment.
