Weather Radio Transmitter Back On The Air

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– A transmitter that relays data from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls to lakes area weather radios is back on the air.

The transmitter north of Milford was knocked off the air Friday by a lightning strike. Technicians were able to get the problem fixed early this (Mon.) afternoon, meaning local weather radios can now pick up something other than static.

The local weather service transmitter provides service to weather radios in Clay, Dickinson, Emmet and Palo Alto counties in Iowa and Jackson county in Minnesota.
