(Arnolds Park)– If you’ve been to the state pier anytime recently chances are you noticed a new informational kiosk there. It was erected by the Iowa Great Lakes Water Safety Council. Phil Peterson says the council decided to put it up after realizing there was just a conglomeration of signs in the area of the green space and state pier. Peterson says the kiosk puts all the information in one convenient place that’s in a highly visible location.
On another matter, Peterson says the Water Safety Council is also purchasing float coats for area law enforcement officers that have lakes in their jurisdiction. Peterson says it makes sense for the officers to have the personal floatation devices available since they’re the first to respond to many emergency situations.
