(Arnolds Park)– A local tourism industry publication has won a national award.
Vacation Okoboji, published by the Okoboji Tourism Committee, has been named 2003 Consumer Brochure of the Year.
The award was presented earlier this week at the Iowa Tourism Conference in Des Moines.
Nancy Landess, Iowa Tourism Office Manager, says the award is based on several critieria, including distribution, how it’s used, how many requests come in for copies of the magazine, and the impact it has on local tourism.
Landess says Vacation Okoboji was chosen among several entities in the category for communities or counties with a population less than 10-thousand.
Professionals representing several facets of the Iowa tourism industry judged the nominations.
