(Des Moines)– State officials are cautiously optimistic the unemployment situation may have turned the corner.
Latest figures from Iowa Workforce Development peg the state’s unemployment rate for September at 4.6 percent…unchanged from August.
The news isn’t as good locally.
Dickinson county saw its rate climb from 2.4 percent in August to 3.3 percent in September; Clay county’s rate went from three percent in August to 3.6 percent in September; Emmet county’s jobless rate went from 4.7 percent in August to 5.2 percent in September; unemployment rates for O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto counties were basically unchanged.
