Two-Vehicle Mishap Near Taco House Turn-off Injures Two Spencer Men

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 202nd Street between Arnolds Park and Milford.

Milford police officer Bob Clark says 51-year-old Joseph Joynt of Fostoria was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Allen Mills of Spencer. Mills and a passenger in his vehicle, 22-year-old Charles Mills of Spencer, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare.

No injuries were reported to Joynt.

Police say Joynt, who was northbound, had stopped on Highway 71 to make a left-hand turn onto 202nd Street when he was struck from behind by the vehicle driven by Allen Mills.

Mills was charged with failure to maintain control.

Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1989 Chevrolet Beretta driven by Mills; damage to a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Joynt was estimated at five hundred dollars.

The mishap took place around 1:30 p.m.
