(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision in Spirit Lake this (Fri.) morning sent one person to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say a 2004 Ford truck owned by Mediacom and driven by 47-year-old Randy Jacobsen of Estherville and a 1997 Dodge driven by Neal Johnson of Spirit Lake collided at the intersection of Highways nine and 71 and Lincoln Avenue.
Johnson was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. The extent of his injuries wasn’t available.
No injuries were reported to Jacobsen, who was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
Authorities say Johnson was eastbound on Highways nine and 71 and Jacobsen was turning from Lincoln Avenue to go west on the highway when the two collided.
Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the Mediacom truck driven by Jacobsen; the vehicle driven by Johnson sustained an estimated four thousand dollars in damage.
The mishap took place around 8:15 a.m.
Spirit Lake police were assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Spirit Lake First Responders and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
