November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle accident late Friday afternoon in Spirit Lake sent four people to the hospital with possible injuries.

Police say vehicles driven by 66-year-old Dennis Miller of Arnolds Park and 18-year-old Angela Gehring of Spirit Lake collided at the intersection of Highways nine and 71 and Denver Avenue.

Gehring and a passenger in the vehicle she was driving, 18-year-old Kelsey Kendall of Spirit Lake, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare along with Miller and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, five-year-old Rachel Miller of Arnolds Park.

Authorities say Miller was eastbound on Highways nine and 71 and Gehring was northbound on Denver Avenue when the two broadsided each other.

Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a GMC Yukon driven by Miller; a Honda Accord Gehring was driving sustained an estimated 3,500-dollars in damage.

The mishap took place around 4:15 p.m. Friday. It was investigated by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
