(Spirit Lake)– A race is shaping up for the office of Dickinson County Attorney.
Two local attorneys have announced their intentions to run for the office. Melanie Summer Bauler currently works as an assistant in the County Attorney’s Office specializing in OWI cases.
Also running for the office is Jason Thomas Carlstrom who operates his own practice in Spirit Lake and is president of the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club and serves on the board of directors of the Dickinson County Airport Authority.
Bauler and Carlstrom are both running as republicans and will square off in a June 8th primary election.
Current Dickinson County Attorney Rosalise Olson says she doesn’t intend to seek another term, but has indicated a desire to continue as an assistant in the office specializing in juvenile cases.
