(Emmetsburg)– A two-vehicle accident in Palo Alto county Monday sent two men to the hospital.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says the mishap took place around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and 380th Avenue.
Spenser Taylor of Ayrshire was northbound on 380th Avenue when he failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 18. Taylor then collided with an eastbound extended cab Chevrolet truck driven by John Haspels of Sanborn.
The collision forced both vehicles into the north ditch. THe truck rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by Jaws of Life equipment. They were taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital. A hospital spokesperson today (Tues.) wasn’t releasing any information on the men’s conditions or say if they’re still patients there, siting HIPPA regulations.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. Taylor was cited for failure to stop at a stopsign and for having no insurance.
