(Spencer)– The discovery of a meth lab last month in Spencer has resulted in charges against two men.
Spencer police say it all started on June 13th when the discovery of a meth lab on East First Street resulted in the evacuation of some nearby residences. The Spencer Fire Department and paramedics were called to the scene as a precaution while authorities cleaned it up.
Police Chief Mike Lashbrook says his office, in cooperation with the Clay County Attorney’s Office, prepared criminal complaints on June 24th as the result of a follow-up investigation. On Monday, Lashbrook says a magistrate issued arrest warrants for 23-year-old David Kubat of Spencer and 24-year-old Adam Noble Harding of South Sioux City, Nebraska. The warrants charge the two men with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine…a class “C” felony.
Harding was arrested Tuesday by the South Sioux City Police Department. He’s being held pending an extradition hearing. Kubat was arrested Wednesday by Spencer police. He’s being held in the Clay county jail pending an initial appearance before a magistrate. Bond for both men was set at 65-thousand dollars.
Spencer police say their investigation continues and more charges and arrests are likely.
