(Okoboji)– Two lakes area residents have been recognized by the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees during their annual meeting in Okoboji.
Jack Tatman, a trustee for Iowa Lakes Community College, received the “50-year Board Member in Iowa Public Education Award”. Tatman has been a trustee since January 5th, 1967. He was also a member of what used to be the Superior School Board.
Spirit Lake businessman Ivan Brown was recognized for his involvement with the college in economic development and his role in the expansion of the Spirit Lake attendance center.
Others recognized at the conference include Lynn Kueck of Algona, who received the “Quarter Center Award”; and State Senator Jack Kibbie of Emmetbsburg who received the “Lifetime Pass Award”. Community service awards were presented to Douglas Lago, Executive Vice-President of Emmet County Bank in Estherville; and John Rahn, a teacher and retired business person from Spencer.
