A Spirit Lake man was injured is a truck/train collision Sunday night in Dickinson County. Dickinson County Sheriff Greg Balloun says 24 year old William Reiter was southbound on 140th Avenue just outside Lake Park City limits when he ran into a westbound locomotive owned by the Iowa Northwestern Railroad. Reiter had attempted to stop but was unable to in time. His 1999 Ford F-150 was a total loss. Reiter was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. No information is being released from the hospital. The Sheriff’s department was assisted by the Lake Park Fire and Rescue. The investigation into the accident continues.
