(Trimont, Mn.)– A Trimont, Minnesota company has been selected to provide 100 megawatts of wind-generated electricity to Great River Energy.
Trimont Area Wind Farm LLC was selected from five proposals for the 92 million dollar project. It will consist of 63 wind turbines in eastern Jackson and western Martin counties of southwest Minnesota. The project will involve about 45 landowners.
Officials say the turbines should be up and running by 2005.
The project was the dream of Doug Scholl…a farmer from the Trimont area who was killed in a plane crash last month at the Jackson airport.
