(Storm Lake)– May 14th has been set as the trial date for a Storm Lake man charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife.
33-year-old George Pittman, Junior is accused of stabbing Keo Gail Pittman who was found dead in her home last September.
Authorities say George Pittman had been out of jail only four days when his wife was found. He had been serving a two year sentence on an earlier charge of domestic terrorism for threatening to kill people at the Buena Vista county courthouse.
Pittman started serving the sentence in 1999. He was recommended for work release last year and was transferred to a halfway house in Sheldon. His sentence was extended to November 15th and his work release was revoked after making threats against staff members of the halfway house. But the parole board was never made aware of that and Pittman was released September 19th.
