Traffic Stop Results In Weapons & Traffic Charges Against Linn Grove Man

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Linn Grove man is in the Clay county jail on weapons and traffic charges as the result of a traffic stop Wednesday evening near Everly.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Arthur Teepe, Junior of Linn Grove after it was discovered the vehicle he was driving had the wrong license plates on it and that the registration had expired. Deputies also learned that Teepe was barred from driving a motor vehicle in Iowa.

After he was taken into custody, Teepe told a deputy that he had a .38 caliber handgun in the vehicle. Other deputies and Iowa State Patrol troopers found the fully loaded gun in the glove compartment.

Teepe was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and driving while barred…both aggravated misdemeanors; and no insurance, improper use of registration and expired registration…all simple misdemeanors.

Teepe is being held in the Clay county jail on bond of nearly 14-thousand dollars.
