November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop has resulted in drug charges being filed against a Wallingford man.

Spirit Lake police say they pulled over a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Arthur J. Gonzales, Junior of Wallingford shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of Highways nine and 71 and Gary Avenue. Authorities say Gonzales had been driving without a driver’s license. A subsequent investigation and search of the vehicle he was in allegedly turned up some marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Gonzales was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; prohibited acts; driving while barred and failure to obey a traffic signal. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail.

The department’s canine unit, Rambo, was used in the search of the vehicle.
