(Spencer)– A Duncombe, Iowa man faces drug charges in connection with a traffic stop around 3:00 p.m. Friday on Highway 71 in Clay county.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over the vehicle and upon investigating, discovered the driver had given him a false name and date of birth. The deputy later identified the driver as 20-year-old Tanner Ewing of Duncombe. Authorities say Ewing gave the deputy his brother’s name since Ewing did not have a valid driver’s license.
A further investigation determined Ewing was in possession of what’s alleged to be a controlled substance.
A search of Ewing’s vehicle turned up a prescription pill bottle with medication that not prescribed to Ewing.
Ewing was transported to the Clay county jail and was held on a one thousand dollar bond.
Two juvenile passengers were released to a parent. One was cited for possession of tobacco.
