Traffic Stop Leads To Charges Against ISU Men’s Basketball Player

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a player on the Iowa State University Men’s basketball team as the result of a traffic stop Saturday in Spirit Lake.

Police say 22-year-old Jackson Vroman of Ames was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say a search turned up a metal container in one of Vroman’s shoes that contained a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana.

The traffic stop took place around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 24th Street and Jackson Avenue in Spirit Lake.

Authorities say Vroman was a passenger in the vehicle.
