(Sibley)– Drug charges have been filed against two people in connection with a traffic stop Wednesday near Sibley.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Santos Mendoza and 41-year-old Sandy Mora, both of Sibley, have been charged with possession of more than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver; possession of more than five grams of cocaine with intent to deliver; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; possession of drug paraphernalia and a drug tax stamp violation.
The two were booked into the Osceola county jail on bond of 214,500-dollars each.
Authorities say the charges are the result of searches of the vehicle the two were in and their residence. The couple was found to be in possession of more than five grams of methamphetamine and cocaine. About eight ounces of marijuana was found in the vehicle, along with 12-thousand dollars in cash that was found at the couple’s residence. The money was seized along with the 1998 BMW they were stopped in.
The investigation was conducted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Spirit Lake Police Department and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.
