(Wallingford)– A tractor was damaged in a field fire Saturday near Wallingford.
Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says the Wallingford Fire Department was called to the Robert Crosby farm east of Wallingford where a corn field was on fire. Fischer says they were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, but not before it burned up a tire on a tractor that was in the field.
Fischer says the fire was the result of embers from a nearby trash fire.
No injuries were reported.
Wallingford firefighters were on the scene about a half hour Saturday.
