(Superior)– Three people were injured Tuesday when two trucks hauling garbage collided at the intersection of 300th Avenue and 160th Street three miles southwest of Superior.
Authorities say a 1997 Peterbilt driven by 30-year-old Michael Perseke of Montevideo, Minnesota and a 1995 International driven by 29-year-old Philip Champagne the third of Willmar, Minnesota were involved in the mishap. Perseke, Champagne and a passenger in the truck Champagne was driving, 27-year-old Jeanie Champagne, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Health Care with possible back and abdominal injuries.
Authorities say Perseke collided with the rear of the truck driven by Champagne, who had stopped for a stop sign.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the truck driven by Perseke and owned by Gibson Transfer, Incorporated of Montevideo, Minnesota. Damage to the truck driven by Champagne and owned by Donaldson Trucking of Willmar was estimated at five thousand dollars.
