(Spirit Lake)– Three Spirit Lake residents are in jail on drug charges after they were discovered in a vehicle by a Spirit Lake police officer who was on routine patrol around 1:15 this (Monday) morning in the 700 block of Lake Street in downtown Spirit Lake.
Police say one of the occupants in the vehicle, 38-year-old Brian Morris of Spirit Lake, was wanted on a warrant and was taken into custody.
Authorities say a subsequent investigation resulted in officers finding substances believed to be marijuana and methamphetamine. That resulted in the arrests of two other people in the vehicle…43-year-old Kandi Kautzky and 44-year-old Randy Schell…both of Spirit Lake.
Kautzky was charged with possession of methamphetamine…a class “C” felony; and possession of marijuana…a serious misdemeanor.
Schell was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver…a class “C” felony; possession of marijuana…third or subsequent offense…a class “D” felony; prohibited acts…an aggravated misdemeanor; and a drug tax stamp violation.
Morris was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver…a class “C” felony; possession of marijuana…third or subsequent offense…a class “D” felony; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; and a drug tax stamp violation.
