(Terril)– Another Dickinson county school district is reporting a drop in enrollment. Terril Superintendent Bruce Tepfer says the number of students there is off by about 11 from last year.
It follows a trend that’s going on throughout the region right now. The Lakeland Area Education Agency out of Cylinder says combined enrollment for the schools it serves is off by some 485 students.
Tepfer says the decrease is definitely a concern. At this point, he says it’s still too early to tell how it will affect the Terril school district’s finances. He says they’re waiting for the other shoe to drop from the state as additional budget cuts loom.
