(Terril)– The Terril school district is looking for anyone interested in serving on the school board.
Bill Gerdeman and Board Chairman Kelvin Sawyer announced at the end of the May 17th school board meeting they would be resigning from the board. Gerdeman’s resignation was effective immediately; Sawyer’s is effective this coming September.
In announcing his resignation, Sawyer sited the tradition of past board members to open up the seat to a new member still having children attending the Terril school.
The district has 30 days from May 17th in which to fill the remainder of Gerdeman’s term by appointment. A special meeting for that purpose has been set for June 14th. Anyone interested in filling the vacancy should contact Board Secretary Karen Oleson.
Anyone interested in running for the full terms for both those seats need to file nomination papers in order to run in this coming September’s school board election. Papers will be available in early July at the Terril school’s business office.
