Telephone Outage Affects 911 In Three Counties

November 22, 2014

(Undated)– Things are back to normal today (Thurs.) after a phone outage Wednesday evening that knocked out 911 service in three counties.

Emmet County Emergency Management Coordinator Terry Reekers says the problem affected Emmet, Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties, knocking out service to communications centers in those counties.

Qwest Communications worked well into the night to fix the problem, and service has since been restored.

The outage was first reported around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
