(Milford)– Representatives of the Milford Fire Department met Monday evening with the Milford City Council to talk about a new fire station.
Fire Chief Don Eckard says no action came as a result of the meeting. He says they’ll be meeting again in the near future with a committee of the city council to talk about specific wants and needs. He says one thing is very clear among everyone: the department has outgrown the existing station.
Eckard is hopeful they can get plans for a new station finalized by this fall so a new station could be constructed sometime in the next year or so.
Similar talks about doing something different for a fire station in Milford were held about a year ago. At that time, Eckard says a feasibility study showed adding on to the existing facility wouldn’t be feasible.
