(Emmetsburg)– The Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes Community College will be the site of a symposium on methamphetamine next month.
Mary Kay Nissen is the Business Health Director at Palo Alto County Health System, which is coordinating the November 15th event. She says the goal is to increase awareness for business and medical professionals and provide training to meet state standards for businesses required to screen employees for drug use.
A number of keynote speakers will be on hand, including Chuck Larson, Senior…U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa. Others include Bruce Upchurch, Director of the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy, and Keving Smith, Assistant Director of Prevention Programs of the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
An emergency room physician, Division of Narcotics Enforcement agents, local law enforcement officers and a drug treatment counselor will also address the gathering.
