SW Mn. Search Warrants Result In Drug Charges

(Jackson, Mn.)– Search warrants executed over the past several days in Jackson and Cottonwood counties have landed several people in jail on drug offenses.

Authorities say the searches resulted in the seizure of illegal substances.

31-year-old Michelle Lee Erwin of rural Jackson county was charged with five drug-related offenses. Erwin is being held in the Jackson county jail on bond of 50-thousand dollars.

Also arrested were 23-year-old Sadie Marie Updike and 36-year-old Thomas Gregory Benson…both of Windom. Four drug-related offenses were filed against Updike; Benson is being held on nine such offenses. Both are in the Jackson county jail. Bond for Updike was set at 50-thousand dollars; Benson’s was set at 100-thousand.

The searches were conducted in the Jackson and Windom areas.

Assisting were the Jackson and Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Offices; Jackson, Heron Lake and Lakefield Police Departments; the Fairmont Police Department’s Canine Unit; Minnesota State Patrol; and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
