Suspicious Vehicle/Person Report Results In Arrest

November 23, 2014

(Superior)– A report of a suspicious person in a vehicle in Superior early Sunday has resulted in the arrest of a Sheldon man.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle parked on private property shortly after 4:00 a.m. Authorities identified the man as 27-year-old Jeffrey Jay Paeper of Sheldon. A subsequent search of Paeper resulted in the discovery of a key that fit the ignition of a truck parked nearby that had the words “Toms Plumbing and Heating” on the sides of it. It was later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Estherville.

Paeper was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, burglary in the third degree, possession of stolen property and trespassing. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail and was being held on eight thousand dollars bond.

Paeper was also wanted on warrants from Emmet and Palo Alto counties.
