Supervisors Schedule Hearing On Proposed Orleans Drainage Project

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday accepted an engineer’s report on a proposed drainage project in the city of Orleans. It’s one of three drainage projects being proposed in and near the city. This particular project has an estimated cost of 370-thousand dollars…or 8,500-dollars an acre. The cost would be assessed to property owners in what would be a newly established drainage district.

The project would include the construction of a detention pond just east of the Orleans city hall, along with a new tile system going from the pond north/northwest where it would outlet into Big Spirit Lake from a city park. New larger tile would also be installed along Center Street.

The supervisors accepted the engineer’s report on the proposal and scheduled a public hearing on the matter for 10:00 a.m. April 20th, 2004.
