Strong Wind Factor In O’Brien County Crash

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– Authorities in O’Brien county say strong wind was a factor in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday that resulted in minor injuries to an Archer woman.

The Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Nancy DeWaay was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina northbound on a county road when the wind caused her to lose control. Deputies say the vehicle collided with a bridge and went into the east ditch where it came to rest.

A news release doesn’t say whether or not DeWaay sought immediate treatment for injuries.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at slightly more than $3,400.

The mishap took place shortly after 6:00 a.m.
