Upon arriving the victim told officers her ex-husband, 52-year-old Raul Barbosa of Hartley, allegedly broke into her home and physically assaulted her. The victim told police Barbosa had allegedly threatened to kill her with a knife. He then fled the scene.

An all-points-bulletin was put out for Barbosa. He was taken into custody about 45 minutes later at his home by Hartley police and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported back to Storm Lake and was booked into the Buena Vista county jail on charges of burglary in the second degree…a class “C” felony and domestic assault…second offense. Barbosa was being held without bond.
