(Wallingford)– A storage shed on a farm southwest of Wallingford was destroyed by fire this (Fri.) morning.
Wallingford Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer tells KUOO news his department was called to 3851 250th Street in Emmet county around 8:00 a.m. Fischer says the building was totally engulfed when firefighters arrived. He says there were some tense moments as some gas barrells and L-P tanks were very close to the fire, but Fischer says they were able to cool them off and there were no explosions.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Fischer says the cause is under investigation, but preliminary indications are pointing to a possible electrical problem.
A dollar estimate of damage to the building and its contents wasn’t immediately available, but Fischer says it will be substantial as there was quite a bit of equipment and materials in the building.
