(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county and Season’s Center remain at an impasse over talks for a new contract for mental health services for the county.
The supervisors Tuesday tabled action on the matter based on concern from Supervisor Wayne Northey. He cited a reluctance from the Season’s Center board to visit with supervisors about the matter. Season’s Center officials say that reluctance is due to legal issues.
In responding to Northey’s comments, Kim Scorza of Season’s Center told the supervisors she feels there are two underlying issues that need to be addressed. One, she says, is “what happened with Oak Haven”. The other, she says is the fact Seasons Center is adding staff at their Spirit Lake office and that they will continue to serve Dickinson county clients even after the current contract with the county expires June 30th.
In tabling the matter Tuesday, supervisors said they want to attempt to meet again with the Season’s Center board regarding the matter. That meeting is set for 9:00 a.m. this Friday, June 25th.
The supervisors are scheduled to take up the matter again at their July 13th meeting.
