Spirit Lake Water Towers To Get New Paint Jobs

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake’s water towers will be getting facelifts.

Crews have been stripping paint from the two million gallon tower near the senior center. As you can see in the picture, workers today took down an antenna on the very top of the structure.

If the weather holds, the tower could be re-painted yet this fall. Otherwise it will wait until spring.

Work on the other tower, behind the high school, won’t start until next spring or summer. Special precautions will need to be followed on that because the existing paint on that tower is lead-based.

The new paint scheme on both towers will feature the city’s “Mainsail” logo of three sailboats on a white background.
