Spirit Lake Softball, Baseball Teams Down Cherokee

The Spirit
Lake softball team scored
seven runs in the second inning and trounced Cherokee, 11-1, last night.  Paige Krause went 2-for3 with a double and
two RBIs, as the Indians won their seventh straight game to improve to
13-9.  Bailee Newman was the winning
pitcher, as she threw six strike outs, gave up two hits and allowed no walks.


Spirit
Lake will compete in a
tournament, at Spencer, on Friday and Saturday.

The Spirit
Lake High
School baseball team took advantage of a big
fourth inning and improved to 8-2 in the Lakes Conference, and 10-2 overall
with a 9-3 win over Cherokee.

The Indians will be on the road, Monday, when they will look
to avenge a loss, earlier this year, to LeMars.


The Spirit Lake High School baseball team took advantage of
a big fourth inning, where they scored five runs, and improved to 9-2 in the
Lakes Conference, and 11-2 overall with a 9-3 win over Cherokee.  Nick Amundson was 2-for-4 at the plate, with
a double and one RBI.  Paul Brown improved
to 3-2 on the mound, with seven strike outs over seven innings pitched.
