Spirit Lake Police Investigate Break-ins, Burglary

(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake police are investigating a couple of break-ins and an attempted break-in that were reported over the past several days.

Authorities say Oak Tree Barbecue at 2791 15th Street was broken into early Friday. Entry was gained through a door. Authorities say a telephone line was cut and cash and miscellaneous items were removed.

Authorities are investigated an attempted break-in at the Hair Team at 718 Lake Street in downtown Spirit Lake. Authorities say a back door was damaged, but entry to the business wasn’t gained. It’s believed that incident took place between 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12th and 8:00 a.m. Friday, December 13th.

In addition to that, Spirit Lake Police are investigating a residential burglary. Authorities say entry was gained to a residence at 703 Jackson Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say drawers were pried open and cash and jewelry were reported missing. Authorities are looking for a possible suspect in that case. The person is described as an Asian male about 40 to 45 years old wearing khaki pants and a gray sweater or coat, driving a newer foreign model blue sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dickinson County Crimestoppers at 336-2345. A reward of up to two hundred dollars is being offered for anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
