(Spirit Lake)– A shoplifting complaint at the Spirit Lake Wal-Mart store has resulted in theft, drug and tobacco charges being filed against three people.
Spirit Lake police say officers were called to the store shortly before 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Upon investigating they determined an adult male, an adult female and a juvenile male had allegedly stolen several items.
Officers also discovered prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia in their possession. Based on that, they obtained and executed a search warrant on a vehicle the three had been in. It led to the discovery of numerous items believed to have been stolen from other area retail stores along with more prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, officers arrested 34-year-old Michele Huls of Sioux Rapids on charges of using a juvenile to commit certain offenses; unlawful possession of prescription drugs; possession of drug paraphernalia and theft in the fifth degree.
32-year-old Anthony Willprecht of St. Cloud, Minnesota was arrested and charged with using a juvenile to commit certain offenses; possession of drug paraphernalia and theft in the fifth degree; and a 15-year-old male juvenile from Sioux Rapids was charged with theft in the fifth degree and minor using tobacco.
Police say the case is still under investigation and that additional charges are likely.
