(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake police have made an arrest in connection with a recent rash of machines being broken into at a laundromat and money being taken from them. Police conducted surveillance on the business which resulted in additional thefts being caught on tape.
Based on that, police executed a search warrant at 607 20th Street in Spirit Lake last Thursday evening that resulted in the discovery of several pieces of evidence.
45-year-old Jeffrey Payne of Spirit Lake was arrested without incident and was booked into the Dickinson county jail on two counts of third degree burglary…each a class “D” felony.
