(Spencer)– A well-known Spencer volunteer has been named the “2004 Jack Wedel Award” winner.
Diane Kitterman was presented with the award at the Spencer Chamber’s annual dinner Monday evening.
Kitterman says she was taken completely by surprise when her name was announced. She says she’s highly honored and pleased to be named this year’s recipient, saying she joins some prestigous people who have received the Jack Wedel Award in past years.
Last year’s Jack Wedel Award winner, Doctor Mike Fielder of Spencer, presented the award to Kitterman.
Kitterman has been a member of the chamber’s board of directors for several years, is a chamber ambassador, is a member of the Hy-Noon Kiwanis Club, and is a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Group which named her “Woman of The Year” in 2001.
The Jack Wedel Award was started in 1982 as a way to honor a person for their outstanding community service to Spencer.
