Spencer Teens Injured In Accident Near Mason City

(Mason City)– Four Spencer teens were injured in a single vehicle accident near Mason City Saturday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 17-year-old Jennifer Lensing of Spencer was eastbound on Highway 18 in a 1996 Ford Explorer when she lost control of the vehicle on an icy bridge. The vehicle went into the south ditch and rolled several times.

A passenger, 18-year-old Madison Kooker of Spencer, was ejected. Lensing, Kooker and two other passengers, 17-year-old Ashley Campbell and 17-year-old Holly Cook, were all taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Kooker was transferred to a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota with back injuries.

The accident happened Saturday morning around 8:20 on Highway 18, just southeast of Mason City.
