(Spencer)– A Spencer High School student was taken to the hospital Thursday after being hit by a car before school.
The accident happened just after 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 8th Avenue East and East 2nd Street on property owned by Spencer High School.
15-year-old Alexsis Bashke of Spencer was driving her vehicle east on east 2nd Street when the glare of the sun blinded her temporarily. 16-year-old Sawyer Waltner of Spencer was walking across the street from the Technical Building to the High School when he was struck by Bashke.
Waltner was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. He has since been treated and released.
No charges were filed in the mishap.
