(Spencer)– The Spencer school board Thursday opened bids on the science addition project at the high school.
Rick Dean of Architects Collaborative in Spencer says they received a total of 14 bid packages for the project. He says they were very pleased with how they came in…especially in light of the high price of steel right now.
The low bid for the general contract work of 805,950-dollars was submitted by M & D Construction of Sheldon. If their awarded the bid, construction would start as soon as possible with completion set for May 1st of next year.
The low bid on the mechanical portion came from Bodholdt Brothers of Storm Lake with a base bid of 314,622-dollars. And the low bid for the electrical work was from Hav’s Electric out of Sanborn with a base bid of 124,250-dollars.
The Spencer school board will award the bids at a special meeting this coming Tuesday, March 30th at 5:00 p.m.
