(Spencer)– Spencer police have released the names of two people found shot Monday in a trailer at 317 West 18th Street. They are identified as 62-year-old Karen Kay Duncan and 71-year-old Harold Arthur Duncan, both of Spencer.
Police were called to the trailer around 8:30 a.m. Monday after learning Karen Duncan hadn’t shown up for work. Upon entering officers discovered the body of Mrs. Duncan lying on a bed to the rear of the trailer with a gunshot wound to her torso. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Harold Duncan was also found lying on the bed suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to the Spencer Hospital and was later transferred to a Sioux City hospital. He has since been transferred to an Omaha hospital where he’s scheduled to undergo surgery later this week.
The body of Karen Duncan has been taken to Sioux City where an autopsy will be performed today (Tuesday).
An investigation continues by the Spencer Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
