(Spencer)– A Spencer woman has been arrested on several forgery charges following a brief investigation.
Spencer police say they arrested 28-year-old Monica Butcher Tuesday. She’s charged with seven counts of forgery and one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The forgery charges are class “D” felonies.
Police accuse Butcher of trying to pass several stolen checks at area businesses. No other details were released.
Butcher was unable to post a 68-thousand dollar bond and remains in the Clay county jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
