Spencer Man Indicted In Federal Court On Meth & Ammo Charges

(Sioux City)– A Spencer man has been charged in U-S District Court with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine and possessing ammunition after having been convicted of domestic abuse.

The charges against 38-year-old Todd Ray Williams of Spencer are contained in an indictment unsealed April 26th in Federal Court in Sioux City. It alleges that between 1999 and continuing through February 10th of this year Williams manufactured more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine and on or about August 3rd, 2002 possessed ammunition having been previously convicted of domestic abuse.

If convicted he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life without the possibility of parole along with a four million dollar fine and atleast five years up to life of supervised release following any imprisonment.

Williams was ordered held without bond at an April 26 court appearance. Trial is set for July 6th.
